FIRST LOOK AT THE BROOKLYN NET’S NEW ARENA INSIDE VIA: @Dchamberz_SCH

I don’t usually post anything controversial or gossipy on my website but after the 2am phone call I just got from a heart broken Olympic Bronze medalist Kellie Wells @kelliewellz I knew I had to take to the web and let the world know some TRUTH! At a time when Kellie and her teammate Dawn Harper should be in complete euphoria over the recent win they had, they are instead hurting deeply by the media and social networking attack they both have encountered this week. Kellie and her teammate Dawn Harper (who I do not speak for) were recently slammed in the media for not coming to the defense of fellow Team USA track member Lolo Jones who came in forth in the same hurdle event Kellie and Dawn won medals in. Lolo recently said earlier this year, “strong religious beliefs have kept her virginity in tact.” The twitter world seemed to be abuzz about Lolo being a virgin and after not placing in her hurdle event this past week the attacks came at her very raw and rough (no pun intended). Comments were made about LoLo after the race making reference to her not being sexually active and that makes a runner slow so that’s why she did not win a medal. <—????? ….NOW the ignorance alone of these disgusting comments made by a few mean spirited twitter users who have most likely not accomplished a darn thing is sad to me! The bigger issue now is the MEDIA accusing Kellie of not giving her teammate moral support because of this comment she made, “Wells: Well, I think that, on the podium tonight, the three girls that earned their spot and they got their medals and they worked hard and did what they needed to do, prevailed. And that’s all that really needs to be said.” <— Im my opinion this is a very VAGUE statement and as Kellie has said, “this was not meant to be a snub to Lolo and if it came off as one I truly apologize.”  Looking at the picture above you can see the journey and goal Kellie set out for herself at a young age and taking someone else’s spirit under is NOT how she got where she is today. Kellie feels ashamed at her peers for accusing her of not having her teammates back and taking her comment to a negative place. Why social networking is taken sooooo serious I HAVE NO CLUE! Better yet why the MEDIA takes it so serious is the bigger question here! It’s sad the media takes what people say on twitter and create’s nothing comments into national headlines. I just want to publicly say Kellie is heart broken and wants nothing but great things for Lolo and ALL her teammates. If your a fan of Lolo Jones and believe in her, then believe she has a good heart and would not agree to the ugly comments folks are making toward Kellie and Dawn. This story of Lolo Jones, Dawn Harper and Kellie Wells is much more than my quick blurb, but the reason for this post is to set the record straight. Kellie is well aware that she and her fellow hurdling teammates only benefit from the national exposure and media attention Lolo brings to the hurdling sport. I hope at least one person reads this post and thinks twice about putting the ugly words of the devil out on social media for the world to use as fair game to attack and devastate people…….

The NFL Draft had a lot of amazing photo moments but to me the best photo was with Michael Strahan @michaelstrahan and Barry Sanders @BarrySanders. It’s no secret Michael is my favorite athlete and I truly enjoy interviewing him! Michael is a class act and I hear Mr. Sanders is too, so in the future I hope to get a chance to interview him… *fingers crossed*

American record holder in the 110 meter hurdles David Oliver @doliversub13 is on the minds of a lot of people lately not just because he won the bronze medal in the 2008 Olympic Games and at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championship, but because he has taken residency in TIMES SQUARE! David’s TD Ameritrade billboard ad (pictured on the right) is currently up on one of the biggest advertising platform this country has, Times Square. David was chosen by TD Ameritrade who is a supporter of the 2012 Olympics as one of only five members of Team USA for an ad in support of the hard work and dedication these athletes have shown. David and I went to Howard University at the same time but our paths never crossed. I have since been able to interview him on the radio and I love his personality and die hard attitude! I salute David and will be cheering him on as he prepares to win the GOLD in the London 2012 Olympics as I hope all of you will be doing.
